Set holiday hours on Google Business Profile

Holiday hours are Special hours on your Business Profile. Select Edit profile, then Hours, then Special hours, add the date, keep Closed ticked or enter your times, and save. It takes about two minutes a date. They replace that day’s usual hours only, for a closure of up to 6 days in a row.

      Steps

      1. Open Edit profile

Search Google for your business name while signed in to the account that manages it, and select Edit profile. In the Google Maps app, tap Business at the bottom right, then Edit profile.

      2. Go to Special hours

Select Hours. In Business hours, next to Special hours, select Edit.

      3. Pick the date

Google often lists upcoming public holidays; select Review to confirm one. For any other day, select Add a date and choose it in the date picker.

      4. Closed, or your hours

If you are shut all day, keep Closed ticked. If you open, untick Closed and enter the opening and closing times. Hours that run past midnight go in as two entries, one for each day.

      5. Add the other dates

Repeat for each date. Special hours replace that day’s regular hours completely, so enter the whole day, not only the change.

      6. Save and check

Select Save. The dates appear under Special hours in Edit profile, and customers see them on Search and Maps on those days.

If you do not see it

      • On the Maps app. Tap Business at the bottom right, then Edit profile, then Hours. The same Special hours section is there.
      • Closed for 7 days or more. Special hours cover up to 6 days in a row. For a longer break, or one with no end date, mark the business Temporarily closed instead.
      • No Special hours, or a profile not yet verified. Set your regular hours to Open with main hours first. If the profile is still waiting for verification, Google may not take hours changes until it is verified.

      Questions

How do I change my business hours in Google Business Profile?

Select Edit profile, then Hours. Change your regular week there, and use Special hours for single dates such as a festival, so your usual week stays as it is.

How long does it take to change opening hours on Google?

Google checks changes before they show and gives no fixed time, so set holiday hours a few days before the date rather than on the day.

Why won't Google let me update my business hours?

The usual reasons are an account that does not manage the profile, a profile that is not verified yet, or a business marked temporarily closed. Special hours also need regular hours set to Open with main hours.
